This blows everything I have done so far out of the water you'll probably find them on Mount Kilimanjaro. Fantastic! my one big big big big question is how do you get those super thing white lines with an eraser (I'm assuming you use an eraser for them)
Very wonderful rendition of Aragorn. I must admit that when I first saw the movie, I had a hard time with the character image in my head from reading the book 5000 times. but as I watched the movies a couple of times, I grew to appreciate the actor playing this role. You've captured the scruffily "ranger" look that he wore so well through out the movie. Nice job
it took me 6 months to get through the books ONCE haha. I had already seen the first one before I started so you know how that goes. I loved both, however, and I'm glad you like my rendition thanks so much!
yeah it got really frustrating always trying to retain such tiny areas of whitespace while working with the charcoal, then one day I was browsing some works of one of the artists i watch and saw that listed in their tools and I was like OMG GENIUS!! it doesn't get QUITE as bright as the original paper, so I still try to be careful not to get too dark in some areas, but sometimes it's just more practical to go back later and add the sharp highlights on top.
Yeah that makes complete sense. I have a hard time remembering to keep my hand lifted, so even if I leave white highlights, my hand rubs graphite onto the spots; and you're right, you can never get it as white as the paper again.
But this is a great idea! Thank you so much for passing it along.
