Not too often, and not in this piece. When I do its usually to add strands of hair or to blend skin (which I don't really have to do any more since I started using graphite for the skin instead of the charcoal)

Once again, fantastic detail. The shadow under her chin is really striking to me, for some reason. It might be the gradient, the way you graduate from dense black to a less saturated black. I also like the gritty, scratchy line work that seems to portray her personality.
